Jim Fregosi was involved in what is considered to be one of the most lopsided trades in MLB history.
On Dec. 10, 1971, the NY Mets traded young pitcher Nolan Ryan, along with Leroy Stanton, Don Rose and Frank Estrada, to the California Angels for perennial all-star infielder Jim Fregosi.
Unfortunately, Fregosi played only 146 games for the Mets over the next two injury-plagued seasons, before being shipped to the Texas Rangers mid-way through the 1973 season. Ryan, as baseball fans know, went on to establish himself as one of the greatest pitchers in Major League history.
The card is Topps deckle-edge, 1968. The reverse of the card is blank.
