If you are at all interested in baseball cards, you have to love this one from the 1957 Topps series. The card features a terrific graphic of Elmer Valo choosing his lumber from the bat rack.
Valo, one of only three major leaguers to have been born in Czechoslovakia, played for 20 seasons in the Majors with teams in both the American and National Leagues.
He was nicknamed “Wall Crusher” for his fearless style of outfield play.
