One of the oddest cards from any of the Topps series.
The card is 1954. Johnny is wearing his Boston Red Sox cap, but he had been sold by the Red Sox to the St. Louis Browns part way through the 1953 season. Early in 1954, he was then sent to the Chicago White Sox, as indicated on the reverse of the card.
The front of the card identifies him as a member of the Baltimore Orioles, but in actuality he was never a member of the Orioles. The St. Louis Browns became the Orioles after the 1953 season, and Johnny would have been with the Orioles had he not been sent to the White Sox.
So, this one card has him representing three different teams; one he no longer plays for, one he never played for, an one he is currently a member of.
